Students embarking on a mission to complete the one-year or two-year program should begin by taking the courses listed on the Courses of Study page .  

 

Theology (Th)

Theology 1                                                               (Th 101 – 3 units)

  • Man, Sin, Salvation.  The origin, nature, present condition and destiny of the human race with special emphasis on his relationship to God.  The nature and extent of sin.  The means of salvation through Christ, the atonement, propitiation, regeneration, sanctification, glorification, faith and repentance.

Theology 2                                                                (Th 102 – 3 units)

  • God, Christ, Holy Spirit.  The nature and historical background of the doctrine of the Trinity.  The Attributes and nature of God.  The Person and Work of Christ.  The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit in drawing, regenerating, anointing and bonding all Christians. 

Theology 3                                                               (Th 201 – 3 units)

  • Ecclesiology, Eschatology 
  • Overview of various major systems of Eschatology; Heaven, Hell, Eternal State
  • Overview of the doctrine of the Church and it’s role in the 21st century.

Theology 4                                                               (Th 202 – 3 units)

  • Bibliology and Hermeneutics 
  • Inspiration, Authority, Canon, Texts, Translations
  • Introduction to interpretive methods
  • History of interpretation
  • Defense of Grammatical/ Historical method

Eschatology Seminar                                               (Th 301 – 2 units)

  • Overview of various positions on Eschatology and how they relate to each other in the 21st century.

Theology of Missions                                               (Th 302 – 3 units)

  • Theology and history of cross-cultural missions.

Pastoral Theology: Womens Studies___   _            (Th 303 – 3 units)

  • Complementarianism in culture and church life, an answer to radical feminism.

 

BIBLICAL STUDIES (Bib)

OT Survey                                                            (Bib 101 —  3 units)

  • Survey of Genesis – Malachi.  This course covers the basic content, canonicity, and historical placement of all the Old Testament books.

NT Survey                                                             (Bib 102 —  3 units)

  • Survey of Matthew – Revelation.  This course covers the basic content, message, outline and placement of all the NT books, using Luke as the representation of the Synoptic tradition.

Gospels                                                                  (Bib 103 —  3 units)

  • This course gives the outline of the Life of Christ, as well as the content and outlines of all four Gospels. 

Bible Study Methods                                            (Bib 110 – 3 units)

  • This is a very hands-on class where the student will experience the challenge of doing exegesis, interpretation, application, message prep.

Romans/ Galatians                                               (Bib 201 – 3 units)

  • Survey of Romans and Galatians

Hebrews                                                                 (Bib 202 – 3 units)

  • In depth study of Hebrews with emphasis on the ministry of Christ.

General Epistles                                                   (Bib 203 – 3 units)

  • Survey of the General Epistles, their main points theologically and practically and their place in the canon.

Prison Epistles                                                      (Bib 301 – 2 units)

  • In-depth look at Paul’s Prison Epistles.

Pastoral Epistles                                                   (Bib 302 – 2 units)

  • In-depth look at 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus

Pentateuch                                                            (Bib 303 – 3 units)

  • Survey of the Pentateuch.

OT Prophets                                                          (Bib 304 – 3 units)

  • Survey of major and minor prophets.

Acts & Pauline Literature                                    (Bib 305 – 3 units)

  • Survey of Acts and placement of Paul’s letters within the historical framework of Acts.  Overview of all Paul’s letters.

 

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (CE)   

World View/ Apologetics                                      (CE 101 – 3 units)

  • Current trends in thought, How to defend the Christian Worldview

Interpersonal Ministry                                          (CE 102 – 3 units)

  • Soul Helping:  Five key areas of interpersonal ministry

Spiritual Formation                                                (CE 301 – 2 units)

  • Prayer, Body-life, Discipleship

Evangelism                                                              (CE 302 – 2 units)

  • A class focusing on the how-to of sharing Christ with others.
