History 1 (Hist 101 3 units)

Survey
of Church History from Pentecost to the Present.
A general survey including the high points between the
1st century and the 21st.
Topics include Councils, Roman Christianity, Eastern and
Western Christianity, Medieval Christianity, the Reformation,
Development of Protestantism, Liberalism of the 18th
through 20th centuries, Evangelicalism and the American
church of today.

depth on Early Church, Councils, Islam, Medieval Church, Reformation

History/ Historical Books
(Hist 202 3 units)

Deuteronomy
through 2 kings, Ezra/ Nehemiah

Survey
of the Books of Israels history from Joshua through Babylonian
Captivity and re-gathering under Ezra/ Nehemiah, touching lightly
along the way on where the prophets fit in.
Reformation
Studies
(Hist 301 4 units)

In
depth study of Reformation, its causes, theological issues
and leaders.

This
course may fulfill the 2nd year Church History requirement.
American
History in light of Christianity (Hist 302 2 units)
-
This
class covers the birth of the United States and its growth
as a culture shaped by a Christian worldview. We will examine the role of 18th
century Deism as well as classic Christianity in our founding
documents.
Religious
History of the World (Hist 303 3 units)
-
Development
of World Religions in light of Christianity.
This course covers the rise and development of the major
world religions through history and how they compare with Christianity.
GENERAL STUDIES (GS)
English

(GS 101 3 units)

This
course is a Why didnt I pay attention the first time
around? review of English grammar and usage, sentence structure,
function of the eight parts of speech, and the basic craft and
rules of logical written communication.

This
course must be taken or challenged to the satisfaction of the
faculty representative.
If the course is challenged successfully, the student
may take 4 units of electives to replace it.
Beginning
Computing

This
is a basic introduction to using common computing needs with
emphasis on Microsoft Office.
