If you
are more than a beginner but not at the advanced level, and love to
worship, this class is for you. Barre chords, scales and leads, finger
picking, and reading tablature will be covered, but the emphasis will be
on contemporary worship and a deeper understanding of the heart of
worship.
Taught
by Ken Rensi, who has been teaching guitar and leading worship for over
20 years. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton and Southern
Oregon University.
Art: Color Theory GS 309, 3 units
Tuesdays
9:00 am – 1:30 pm at Trail Christian Fellowship, 18881 Hwy 62, Eagle
Point, Starts 1-12
It’s
been said that, “Color is the romance of art.” This course will delve
into classic theories of color, building upon other foundations of art
(drawing, tonal values, composition and edges). Join a group of
encouraging students that will pursue excellence through discussion,
demonstrations and hands-on painting time. It is suggested that students
have some prior art training for maximum benefit from this class. All
mediums are welcome, with oils being the most popular choice. Class
meets for 10 weeks with an Art Show one Sunday.
Taught
by Karen Cain-Smith, an award-winning artist with 9 years experience as
a private art instructor. She is a graduate of Humboldt State and
Northern Arizona Universities.
The Gospels Bib 103, 3 units
Tuesdays
6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, at Pacific Bible College, 409 N. Front St, Medford,

The four
gospels are the primary source of knowledge of the life and work of
Jesus of Nazareth. Since Christianity depends on the historical facts of
Christ’s life, death and resurrection, familiarity with these eyewitness
accounts is critical to a well-founded faith. The course will focus on
the man, the ministry and the message of Jesus Christ and the meaning
these have for our lives today.

by Ryan Clark, a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Gordon-Conwell
Theological Seminary who brings over 10 years of ministry experience to
the classroom.

This
course is a “Why didn’t I pay attention the first time around?” review
of basic writing craft to learn the most effective way to use the
written word in everyday life.

by Lynn Ludwick. Lynn is a graduate of Northwest Christian College and a
published writer.
Making
Disciples CE 103, 3 units

Discipleship is the second part of the Great Commission. Students will
research and study the style of Jesus as He discipled the 12. This will
be used to challenge them to apply what they have learned in a
discipleship experience of their own while going deeper into their
hearts and life. This class will meet for 13 weeks.

by Jody Bormuth, a graduate of Multnomah Biblical Seminary who has
served in youth and women’s ministries in various ways for over 30
years.

Paul
instructed Timothy to “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God …
handling accurately the word of truth.” This foundational course will
guide you through the historical development of God’s Word and equip you
with the practical fundamentals of sound Bible interpretation.

Alaska Bible College. Terry’s experience includes 24 years as a pastor,
missionary, and camp director in Oregon and Alaska. He is currently
affiliated with American Missionary Fellowship and oversees their

Youth
Workers
have a challenging role and task regarding ministry to the home, the
church or on the school campus. This course lays the foundation for a
strong biblical philosophy and practical framework for ministering to
today's household with an eye on the church, para-church, school and
institutional settings. Elements of philosophy, leadership, and programs
are examined regarding youth and families, and their cultural world.
Taught
by Mark Sumpter a graduate of Westminster Seminary with a MAR in
Theological Studies. Mark has been involved in congregational ministry
for over 25 years. He currently serves as pastor of Faith Presbyterian
Church in Grants Pass.
Biblical Gender Th 203, 3 units
Thursdays 6:00-9:30 pm at Parkway Christian Center, 229 NE Beacon Dr.,
Grants Pass, Starts 9-10
In
today's world questions abound as to the uniqueness of each gender. In
this class, students, both men and women, will gain a greater
understanding of their own gender's biblical value and worth, while
integrating this with each gender's specific biblical roles. They will
be challenged to learn the complete story behind why God created two
genders: Male and Female, and why He intends for them to find it a
privilege and an honor to remain distinct and unique. This class will
meet for 13 weeks.

Theological and practical. This defines our study of the General
Epistles. Beginning with a review and defense of the canonicity of
Scripture we will pursue a comprehensive survey of Hebrews to Jude. Our
common goal will be to understand biblical truth and to apply it to our
lives and ministries.

class, we will study the historical, theological and geographical
content of the 39 books found in the Old Testament. The Goal of the
class is to get both a basic understanding of these books in their
original context and to understand these books in light of the reality
that Christ is the fulfillment of all that God has promised.

takes many forms and is an important part of our lives. If your heart
longs to learn more about musical worship, this course will deepen your
understanding and give you the basics of beginning guitar, enabling you
to play contemporary worship songs.

Church History 1: Pentecost to Present Hist 101 - 3

Students will be provided with an overview of the major events,
personalities and movements of the Christian Church. Attention will also
be given to the major trends and philosophical shifts in secular history
that have either shaped the Church or were shaped by the Church. This
course will be taught from the belief that history is part of God’s
general revelation to mankind and as such has value to the believer in
learning wisdom and living charitably among the wider Body of Christ.

by Christopher White and Matthew McAuliffe. Christopher is a graduate of
Prairie Bible College and is an Associate Pastor at Trail Christian
Fellowship. Matthew is a graduate of Western Baptist College and is the
Worship Pastor at Trail Christian Fellowship.
Art: Capturing Images with Confidence GS 319, 3 units
Tuesdays
9:00 am – 1:30 pm at Trail Christian Fellowship, 18881 Hwy 62, Eagle

Render
images with immediacy and accuracy, employing the main elements that
make paintings successful. The majority of this class will involve
hands-on work using oils or soft pastels, with the balance comprised of
demonstrations, instruction and discussion. All art levels are welcome.
This class will meet for 10 weeks.
